The jarring starts
And stops
Of the day
The clicking
Clatter of
A thousand things to do
The stop and go
Of city traffic
Spewing waste
Into the air
As a thousand
Busy people
Inhale and release it
Coughing and falling still
As a byproduct
Of modern life.
